August 9th
Karen and I woke up a bit late...just in time to get dressed and go eat lunch. We had a chicken fajita sandwich. I liked mine, Karen didn't like hers. We didn't have to arrive at work until 4:30pm, so we decided to go back to the lounge for bit. At 4:30pm, we arrive just in time to work.
We are serving Salsarita's, another popular dish for the sac, so I knew what I was doing. It felt like we were serving for an eternity. I though 7pm would never come. It did though, of course. After we cleaned, we went back to the lounge.
I had bought these shoes a few weeks back from Walmart. They were all white. Rachel S suggested I buy Sharpies so people could draw on them. Rachel S had drawn on them, and a few other people, but none of my new friends had. So I brought the shoes to the lounge, and asked if people would like to draw on them. They did of course.
The lounge had a buzz of excitement...tomorrow was the Gala, and we were going to attend. Since the caf wasn't going to be serving dinner, we were going to dress in our nicest clothes, go into the Gala, get some food, and come back to the lounge and hang out. So we had all sorts of plans and ideas. It was just a fun evening.
On our way from the restroom to the dorm, Karen, Mariam, and I saw an armadillo. We decided on the name Dorito, because it reminded us of the movie "The Road to El Dorado". There is a small, cute armadillo in the movie. When we told Desiree we found an armadillo, she was like, "Oh, Pedro?" No, we named him Dorito. So we had a small argument whether his name was Dorito or Pedro. And then we went to sleep.

| Trey thought it would be funny to sit in this chair. Anytime anyone asked him how it broke, he told them he sat on it. |
 |
| Andrew drew New Zealand's official bird, the "Kiwi", which also happens to be Mariam's nickname for him |
 |
| Ulises drew me a flower |
 |
| Trey drew a rainy meadow on one side of my shoe... |
 |
| and a sunshiney meadow on the other side! |

| Ulises also added a Mickey Mouse head |
 |
| This is Spanish for "Whatever", my favorite word, obviously |
