Last Day of Work (with pictures!)

July 28th

     Saturday. My last day in the Java Hut (or so I thought). I had to work the 7am shift, so I set my alarm for 5:50am. I was so afraid I wouldn't wake up, and I would sleep through it because the fan is so loud it might have overpowered the sound of my alarm. But thankfully I did wake up. I

was up before the sun. It was nice. It was cool...temperature wise. I almost needed a sweater. There was so much activity going on outside...all sorts of eXtreme campers were running around in some sort of race. I work the morning shift with Tiara. Then I go back to

my dome and eat a poptart and just lay there. Then 11am comes, and I have to go back up and work. I love working...I was just tired. I was running on 4 1/2 hours of sleep. So after lunch, I am done. Done with the Java Hut. Done with the sac (until Tuesday). Done with eXtreme

Camps. I walk back to my dome, ask Jorge (the new Volunteer Supervisor. Jordan went on a mission trip) if it was ok to move back into the dorm...the air conditioned dorm...and he said yes. So I moved my stuff. Priscilla moved her things too. Then she invited Desiree and I to

go swimming. I said I probably would swim, but I would go down there to get some sun. So Priscilla leaves before us, and then Desiree drives us up there. I walk to the pool, and Priscilla is down there, and so is someone else. He was a summer volunteer named Andrew. I had heard

of him before because Desiree and Rachel L went cliff jumping with him a few weeks ago, but I had never seen him before. He is from New Zealand. (Yes, for all of you out there, he has an accent). So we all swam for a bit. Not me...because I was catching some sun...and yes, I did

get a bit burned. And then Priscilla and I walk back to the Village. She is from Canada, and she is legally blind. She can see out of the sides of her eyes, just not straight on. She does well for herself, and you almost can't tell. But anyway, so we walk from the pool to the Village, talking all

the way. And then she and Desiree take a shower, then Desiree and I go eat dinner. After dinner, Desiree goes to the Prayer Room, and I am on my way back to the Village when a friend texts me. Jasmine. (Remember a few posts back when I mentioned the Sonic where my

friend worked at? Yep, this is her!). Jasmine wants to hang out, so she comes and spends the evening with me at Teen Mania. We eat, watch movies, talk. I introduce her to Rachel L, and they clicked. It was almost...magical!!
