Sunday. As much as we wanted to go to church this morning, we had to be at the caf by 7am. I had gotten about 2 hours of sleep last night. So in total, I had only 5 hours of sleep the past weekend. And I was feeling it. I felt delirious...so tired that I wasn't tired. So we arrive at the caf.
Only one girl shows up. Lauren. I know Lauren, and I love Lauren, so I am glad she is working with us today. And unfortunately, no one else shows. We set everything out and wait. I decide to make myself some coffee. Ulises came in a bit late, and we all just wait.
People come, they eat, they leave. We clean up, and we leave. I take my breakfast with me to the lounge, and about half of it there. I put my leftover milk in the mini fridge, and I put my other box of cereal into my bag. I go and take a shower, and then sit on my bed, waiting for my hair to dry. Karen and Mariam went back to sleep.
I really, REALLY, wanted to sleep, but I really dislike sleeping with wet hair, so I decide to go to the lounge. Ulises and Caleb are sleeping in there, and I just get on Facebook. About 11:45am, I wake Karen up, and we walk over to check in on the caf.
Thankfully, responsible people showed up for work, so Karen and I sit down and eat lunch. Mariam joins us, and then Ulises joins us, but then he leaves shortly after he gets his food. I am sitting with Mariam and Karen for a little bit, but I wasn't feeling well (partly because I was SO tired) so I excused myself and walked to the lounge.
I laid on the couch and listened to music. I thought about going to sleep there, but I really don't like sleeping in "public" places either. Priscilla comes in and begins taking pictures of the lounge to show her family back home where she hung out.
We talk for a little bit, and then Philip comes in. Ulises comes in too, and they all head to lunch. I go to the dorm, because I really need a nap. Karen and Mariam are in there, talking about going cliff jumping. They want me to come with them, but I tell them no way...I don't think I could make it. Desiree, Karen, Mariam, Ulises, and Philip went cliff jumping.
I stayed and took a 1 1/2 hour nap. Christa and I show up at the caf about 4pm...no one is there. Ok. So we set up, we work for two hours, and then we close down. It took us an hour to clean up. There was just the two of us. Ok, yes, two guys did help us stack chairs, but besides that, it was just Christa and I. I was exhausted.
I go to the lounge, frustrated that no one showed up at the caf. I was just a tad bit over sensitive because I was still running low on sleep...so all of my frustrations seemed magnified. Karen and Mariam had come back from cliff jumping. I go into the lounge to eat my dinner, and for some reason, Ulises thinks he is the problem to my frustration.
No, it wasn't him. It was just everything. I really needed some sleep. But tonight was Kaylah's last night, and I wanted to spend the evening with her. So for a little bit, it was just Kaylah and I in the lounge. Well, Caleb was there too, but he was sleeping, so that doesn't count.
But it was one of the first evenings in a long time that it was just me and Kaylah. It was really nice. We just sat and talked. I made her a s'more. It was such an enjoyable evening. Thor came in the spend his last night with his girl. They were both going to the airport tomorrow, to separate states. It was going to be a long distance relationship.
So they were together. Karen had come in, and we started looking at engagement ring apps (not so subtly giving Thor a hint, haha). And then Thor walked Kaylah to our dorm. He then walked all the way back to the intern dorms. Ulises and Philip come in, screaming at each other to shut up. They thought it was funny. Karen and I did not. So, after enduring several moments of loudness, we all went to bed, and succumbed to the silence.
